Academic visualization Project

Professor Ivan Damnjaniovic from Texas A&M University states that ”… both verbal and non-verbal methods are important for teaching abstract concepts.” He developed the idea of using visual representation as a way for graduate and undergraduate students to express their findings and ideas. Then, he makes students to illustrate abstract concepts, which are central to the course, by using videos where they integrate different skills that range from understanding the concepts to being able to communicate them.

Based on this idea, graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in the course of Analysis of Infrastructure Systems at Los Andes University (Bogotá. Colombia), use videos to describe specific problems of the Colombian infrastructure. Here are some examples:

El Dorado Airport
Colombian electric Power
Colombian road transportation

History of railroads in Colombia
Concesions in Colombia
Road network infrastructure problem in Colombia
